Thank you for your comment.

I am not sure I know what you mean when you say it is cascading water. Could you please elaborate?(Maybe pictures would help.)

The problem that you are having with CSD falling out probably has to do with the fact you have a retrofit plate (that is the black plastic part held in place by for screws to the spray housing) that has 4 magnets instead of 8. So I would recommend that you get the retrofit kit K080 and take out the old retrofit plate and install the new one. This will take care of your problem of loosing the CSD.

I hope this is helpful. In the mean time, I await your reply with regard to the cascading water.

It was completely cleaned last September. I also need the cascading spray dome replacement parts - the new magnetic one. Do you have this replacement part. We find that they fall off on occasion and end up in the compost bin. But it is still cascading water with the domes in place. Thanks Margie

Comment on Ask The Expert: CBS-2052e20 & Coffee Basics

First off, congratulations on your purchase of a CBS-2052e-20. You’re going to love it.

The recommended dose by the SCAA is 3.25-4.25oz of coffee for every 64 oz of water. So, that would mean that for a 2 gal brew we would need 13oz - 1lb 1oz of coffee. Therefore FETCO designed this basket to take up to 1lb 4oz of coffee but to be honest this is pushing it so I personally would not go past the 1lb 1oz recommended by the SCAA.

I hope this information was helpful and please do not hesitate to contact me with any further questions that you may have regarding your new CBS-2052e20.

Can you tell me Shane, what is the max capacity of the 2050 series baskets?

I got the 36.9 amp version and am pretty stoked about it. Drips only through the right side sprayhead, disc and cutter into the grounds. I don't believe it is overfilling - There is no additional water flow unless the brew lever is turned almost to BREW. At that point the normal amount of water starts to dispense. Also, no drips on the left.

Comment on Ask The Expert: Dripping Brewer

I am sorry to hear that you are having trouble with your CBS-2052. But I think we can get you taken care of ,no problem.

Now you say you cleaned the probe and it was pretty limed up and since this is the case I am wondering it the wall of the tank are pretty limed up as well. If you can take the tank access cover off and look inside the tank. (Be careful, make sure power is off and remember tank access cover will be hot) I am guessing that you will find there is lime build up on the tank wall and this is contributing to the problem. This is because not only does the probe need to be clean so it can conduct but so does the tank.

To test this theory ,using a straight edge screw driver scrap the lime off of the tank until you hit metal. A ½’ square area below the water line should suffice. Then place the access cover over the tank opening turn the brewer on and test. If the problem goes away then I would recommend that you de-scale the tank using Dezcal from Urnex www.urnex.com.

I hope this information is helpful and please let me know if you need any further assistance.

I was wondering exactly the same thing and you've cleared things up. I haven't stopped using the iced tea unit, but since the iced tea sales are low half the year I would like to use it with an alternative product suitable for the winter.
