Ask The Expert: 20-75 PSI

QUESTION:

Hi, the specs for a  Extractor 2042 say that the water supply should be 20-75 psi.  What would I expect to fail on this machine if the supply pressure is higher or when there are spikes in the pressure?  Also, I was told by a tech that there may be pressure reducers built into the machines, is this true?

Thanks,
Floyd

ANSWER:

Floyd,

First if you exceed the maximum water pressure the fill valve will potentially open on its own causing the unit to overfill or after it when opens as part of the normal refill process it may not close causing over potting in the dispensers. In both cases the fill valve what is impacted and that would be all.

Second FETCO does not supply pressure reducers on any equipment. This is an add on at installation.

I hope this information is helpful and points in the right direction on your next steps if you have any other questions I please let me know I would be happy to assist you.
