Ask The Expert Answers a Question on Leaving a CBS-2052e Brewer Power On 24/7

QUESTION:

Shane,

I didn't see my answer on the Fetco web site.

I know, for our chuches CBS-2052 brewer, supposedly I can leave power on the heaters 24/7 and the heat loss should be minimal.  But is there any way to power the unit up on a time schedule?  I'm not stating how it would be done (I know it's 30A 240V and would need suitable equipment) but I want to understand the board logic.  Bottom line: if I apply power to the unit is there a way to have it start heating without pressing a front panel button?

Thanks.

Jon

ANSWER:

Jon,

This is a very good question, the quick answer is no.

As an explanation the current logic of the cotrol board requires that the control panel power button to be pressed to turn the brewer on and that button has to be pressed for the brewer to begin to heating.

Our programming platform is very basic and straight forward so it does not allow for such an operation.

I wish I could offer you something more along this line, but there is just nothing available at this time.
