QUESTION:

Hello,

We have a Fetco Coffee machine (model number CBS-2052e).  We are getting error code 102- Unwanted Fill.  In the owner's manual it states that there could be a possible leak or output on control board has failed.  My question is where would we look to determine if there is a leak?  And if that is not the issue where could we get a replacement for the control board?

Kendra,

Error code 102 can indicate a leak or it can indicate a flow rate issue; meaning that the brewer is not getting enough water.

If the error code is occurring after a brew cycle or after a double brew then there is a flow rate issue. If the brewer is leaking the error code will occur when the brewer sits idle.

If the brewer is leaking it is possible that the leak is slow enough that water is collecting in the bottom of the brewer but there is not enough water to leak outside the brewer.

If you take off the right front panel you will be able to see inside the brewer and determine if there is a leak. If you see no visible signs water leaking then even if there is a leak it would not be leaking fast enough to be generating an error code.

Then we are back to a flow rate issue. This could be because your water filter needs to be replaced or a the water supply line is not on all the way or the fill valve on the brewer is clogged. These are the most common but they are not the only causes.
