Ask The Expert Problems Solves a Slow Dispensing CBS-52H Hot Water Faucet

QUESTION:

We have a CBS-52H brewer which works very well for us.

Our problem is with the hot water spigot. The spigot either fails to release hot
water or does so in a very small slow stream. The inside plastic sleeve has been replaced
numerous times and for a short time provides a decent adequate flow of hot water,
but always fails with in a week.
What can be done? And what information can you give us on proper use of the hot water
spigot and the volume of water we should be able to use.

Thanks
Lawrence

ANSWER:

Lawrence,

The hot water spigot on these machines will dispense about 16oz of water in about 7 seconds give or take a little.

Now the problem you are suffering could be a combination of things. I know you have replaced the seat cup several times but that could just be a small part of the issue.

It is possible that there is scale build up in the tube and even in the tank fitting; there could even be an issue with scale building up in the hot water faucet itself. I recommend draining the water down below faucet level and take apart the tubing and clean everything out a best you can I would even remove the hot water faucet and disassemble it and soak it in descaling solution. Also make sure that the tank fitting is clear of any obstructions. Once you have don this make sure that the seat cup is clean (Rubber part in the valve) and make sure it is seated all the way on the stem.

I hope that this information is helpful and that you will be able to get your hot water faucet working again.
