QUESTION:

What inline water filters that you recommend?

Thanks!

ANSWER:

Jane,

This question is harder to answer than one would think and as a matter of fact this answer will leave you with more questions, but here it goes any way.

In the simplest terms we do not recommend a specific filter for any of our brewers the reasons for this are many and varied.

1. Every brewer requires a different volume out put from the water supply and because of that every brewer would require a different filter to meet that out put.

2. Every location’s water is different (even if it is in the same municipality or even across the street) and would require a filter to meet the conditions of each of the locations water.

3. What does the customer want to accomplish by filtering their water?

a. Eliminate visible particles from water (Suspended Solids)

b. Eliminate tastes and odors in the water that might affect the end product.

c. Reduce service call issues do to water hardness issues

d. Desire to control Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) in water which will help control the affect water has on extraction.

• The answer to this question would determine whether “filtration” would be used or a “water treatment system” would be used.

• For more information on this please go to www.fetco.com to view video of SCAA interview with Tony Fischer from Everpure as well as the SCAA interview with Skip Finley from Cirqua Water Systems.

4. Sometimes what a customer wants and what a customer’s budget will allow them to get are two entirely different things so this has to be taken into consideration as well.

5. If nothing else an appropriately sized Taste and Odor filter should be used.

I hope that this helped to answer your question and I know it spurred about a dozen more. If you need further help let me know.
