Ask The Expert: Airpots
Question:
Morning;
I own a small coffee shop in Seattle. Our bean wholesaler is good enough to provide us with L99017s whenever we need a new one. Generally, they're built like tanks, and we love them. One thing keeps giving out on them though, and it's led to us having quite a trove of 99% good airpots piling up in storage.
Forgive my structural ignorance on this; I'll try to describe it as best I can. There seems to be a tension pin of some sort that works to keep the silver pump lever on top, well, pumpable. When it gives out, the lever snaps down, you can't pump it and, of course, everyone thinks it's busted. You can manually set the lever in the proper groove on top, but as the problem goes on, you have to monitor it every few customers. Kind of a hassle when it gets busy.
I hate the waste of just tossing these airpots which, as I said, are still otherwise in great shape. Is there any way to order whatever replacement part it is that I'm looking for?
Thanks so much for your time,
Jon
