Ask The Expert: No Neutral

Question:

I am looking to purchase a new brewing system for our church. One that has the dual capacity to brew at least 1.5 gallons at a time. The problem is that when our new building was being built, the electricians put in 208-V-230V rated wiring with no neutral wire. Standard outlets sizes. We are at the point where we need much bigger brewers but don't quite have the money to spring for new brewers and new electrical wiring. So my question is are there any brewing systems that we can get that don't require that neutral wire? Any info you have would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Sara

Answer:

Sara,

This is a very good question as you are apparently aware our all of standard equipment requires a neutral wire for proper operation. The neutral wire provides 120V to the control components i.e.. thermostat, dispense valve etc...

However we do have special order equipment that can be built with a step down transformer that supplies 120V for the control components instead of needing a neutral.

This is available in our 52H15 and our 2052e both of these brewers are 1.5 gallon brewers.

If you need addition details or pricing please contact our Customer Service Department @ 800-338-2699. Just let them know which brewer you want and that it has to have a step down transformer and they will take care of the rest.
