Ask The Expert: Dented Dispensers

Question:

Hi Shane,

I would like to ask a question about CBS2051e 6 litre flasks (1.5 gallon LUXUS Dispensers). One of our customers has dropped a flask and put a dent in the front of it just above the tap. Is there anything we can do to remove this dent, the flask still keeps hot OK its just that the dent doesn’t look very pretty.

Thanks for your help,

Best Regards

Simon

Answer:

Simon,

I am sorry to say that there is nothing that can be done in such situations. The gauge of this stainless steel is too heavy to successfully remove a dent. Any method used to the raise the dent would irrevocably damage the dispenser. Either rendering the dispenser useless or leaving it in a cosmetically worse state.

There is one thing that you can do however. If the rest of the dispenser is in good shape and as you have already confirmed the dispenser is holding heat. You could place a decorative wrap over the stainless steel section of the dispenser. It could be a graphic of some kind or a solid color. Once the wrap is in place no one will ever know that there is a dent in the dispenser.

We have Pump Skins wraps available in some generic graphics and in solid colors. If you are interested you can contact our Customer Service Department @ 800-FETCO-99 and ask about the possibility of purchasing a Pump Skin for an after market application.

This does not remove the dent but it does act as an effective cosmetic repair.

Shane
